INTERVIEW mit Logan von SINAI BEACH
TL2IN: Hello Guys! How are you and what is going on in South California?
SINAI BEACH: Hey we are good, nothing much going on right now but touring and writing.
TL2IN: Can you please introduce yourself and tell us in a few sentences what all
happened to Sinai Beach since the beginning of the band?
SINAI BEACH: Well my name is Logan and i play guitar in Sinai Beach , the beginning of
Sinai Beach was just me our singer CJ and our Drummer Mike D, after jamming a few times
we picked up Jeff our bass player and Mike R, our second guitar player. After the years of
touring up until now our other guitar player Mike R. left the band because he could not take
the touring life and he is married. So now we are back to a four piece witch is fine for now.
TL2IN: Your new full-length is called "Immersed". What stands behind the titel and what was the main idea in combination with the artwork?
SINAI BEACH: When we were reviewing names we came upon "Immersed in Darkness" and that´s what we were going to call it , but we decided that we wanted the name to be short and to the point, but with the same meaning of being "Immersed in Darkness" so we decided to just stick with "Immersed" and with the art work we want to give the viewer a sense of being "Immersed in Darkness" with out saying the whole thing.
TL2IN: Can you please tell us something about the new songs? What is all different between the new and the old stuff from your last release “When Breath Escapes”?
SINAI BEACH: When we wrote "When Breath Escapes" we were all young and were experimenting, like any other band you must find your sound and when we wrote "Immersed" we wanted to write an album that we would not get tired of listening to and the music we all love is mostly metal so we wanted to go for an old school southern metal feel like Pantera, Suffocation etc...
TL2IN: Can you please give us an insight into the lyrics and tell us something about the shouted words?
SINAI BEACH: Well on the new album “Immersed” we decided to write about matters that point finger at our selves rather than the world, do to life experience and matters that happen in our lives we wanted to write about situations and how we might handle them.
TL2IN: "Immersed" is your Victory debut album. Are you happy with that deal and how did you guys get onto Victory Records?
SINAI BEACH: Yes Immersed is our Debut, and we are very happy to be on such a known label and so far we have been treated very well, and would like to keep a good relation between the label and our selves, the deal was the best deal out of all of the deals we got from numerous labels and still continues to prevail.
TL2IN: How was it for you to work together with Eric Rachel. Could he helped you with some good ideas?
SINAI BEACH: It was an awesome experience Eric is an awesome dude, he whipped our butts into shape and together we made this album sound the best that it could be! We were very excited to work with him and learn his techniques.
TL2IN: Do you have any favorite song which you like to play in reference to the lyrics and a special background or something like that?
SINAI BEACH: Ummm not really but i would say my favorite song to play at this moment as been "the god i would be".
TL2IN: If you should describe your music with three words what would you say?
SINAI BEACH: HARDER THAN HELL
TL2IN: How was the time on tour with Zao, The Juliana Theory, Open Hand and The Takeover? Will you hit the road again and play some shows in Germany to promote the new album in the near future?
SINAI BEACH: The tour was awesome we made good friends and had lots of fun, even though it was not our crowd most of the time it was still fun! YES! We want to come back to Europe as soon as we can we loved it out there and when we get the chance we will take it!
TL2IN: What kind of music do you listen to and which CD spins in your CD player at the moment you are reading this?
SINAI BEACH: Oh man i just bought the new Aborted album and that´s what is spinning right now non stop! Also i love the new Mnemic and Soilwork! There are too many to list.
TL2IN: I read that Mike Risinger has left the band. How will the story from Sinai Beach go on? Have you any concrete plans for the future which you can tell us right now?
SINAI BEACH: Well him leaveing put no damper in the future we still our going to tour as much as we can, we are still looking for another guitarist but we will tour as a four piece if we have to! We are already looking forward to this next album we hope to make it even harder and heavier.
TL2IN: Thanks for your time and the interview. I wish you all the best for the future. Do you have any final comments?
SINAI BEACH: Thanx to all the fans we have in Europe and we hope to see you sometime in the future thanx again! Cheers!
